"First things first, to build a soapbox you need a bit of space!" Haydn Leader of Armstrong Explorer Scouts warned!
With that these 5 Explorer Scouts aged between 14 & 17, Barclay, Remi, Dan, Josh and Monty, cleared the garage, finding many treasures to upcycle into a soapbox!
With wheels from camping trolleys & wheel barrows, this kart will go full throttle down Market Street! (Haydn did mention that "the wheels will have to be returned come camping season, else we will have to carry all the gear!")
Next the decision on the team theme.... having discussed it at length, basing a soapbox on Scooby Doo seems just right! With a few artists in the unit lending a hand, others keen to dress up and get into character, they are hoping to gain much more than some scooby snacks!
These explorers are super resourceful - no set square, no problem, let's just use something that is already square, no measuring tape, no problem, we can measure lengths with string. With a little help from another group leader and his welding skills the base of this Mystery Van has soon started shaping up!
Good Luck guys!
